Setting group authority

Setting group authority

Depending on its settings, other than members will be able to read posted contents of your mailing list Groups. Please make sure that you have appropriately set the access permission of your group.

If you want to, for example, limit post and member checking to within the group only, and member participation to be only through addition or invitation, make the following settings.

Example of settings

  1. Select Group from the menu of the new system (Gmail).

  2. Click "My Group".

  3. Click "Manage" of the mailing list to be set.

  4. Click "Authority" from the menu on the left and then click "Basic permissions".

  5. Make the following settings, then click "Save".

    • View topics: All members of the group
    • Post: All members of the group
    • Join the group: Only invited users
    • Permit members outside the organization: If the member's email address includes something other than "@keio.jp" then check "Permit new users outside keio.jp".

  6. Click "Authority" from the menu on the left and then click "Access Authority".

  7. Make the following settings, then click "Save".

    • View members: All members of the group
    • Display member email addresses: All members of the group
    • View topics: All members of the group

This completes the settings.
