a. Notes

How to receive email messages both in your keio.jp account and in the target account.

When you use email forwarding, all the received email is forwarded and no messages are left in the inbox. If you want to receive email in your keio.jp account, including Web mail, make sure to select [Leave a copy of the message in my account].

How to forward email messages to a mobile phone or PHS (Personal Handyphone System) device.

Make sure that blocking of email from non-mobile mail addresses is turned off before starting the setup. For setting details, consult with your mobile phone or PHS (Personal Handyphone System) carrier.

Notes on storage capacity

If you configure the system to receive email with both the keio.jp and target accounts, email messages will be stored in both accounts. Make sure to regularly delete unnecessary email messages in both accounts, to ensure that you have sufficient free space.
*If the maximum storage capacity is reached, you will not be able to receive email.

b. Common procedures

When you log into the keio.jp Web mail service, click [Options].

When the following window appears, click [Forwarding email].

A window for configuring email forwarding will appear.

c. Various methods for forwarding email

Various configurations are possible for email forwarding, such as specifying the time period, targeting only email messages that contain particular character(s) in the From and Subject fields, or combining multiple criteria.This page explains some typical configurations.

How to forward all the email that arrives at your Keio ID (email address)

  • Enable/Disable: Select [Enable].
  • Target email address: Enter the email address to which email messages are to be forwarded.

When you are done, click [Add].

How to specify the time period for email to be forwarded

  • Enable/Disable: Select [Enable].
  • Target email address: Enter the email address to which email messages are to be forwarded.
  • Designated time period: (Specify the time period in the year/month/day format. You must specify both the starting date and ending date.)

When you are done, click [Add].

How to forward messages that contains specific character(s) in the Subject field

The explanation is given here using an example of "forwarding email that contains the string 'keio' in the Subject field to a specific email address."*1

  • Enable/Disable: Select [Enable].
  • Target email address: Enter the email address to which email messages are to be forwarded.
  • Designated criteria:
    • Select [Subject].
    • Enter "keio" in the following criterion entry form.
    • Select [contains].

When you are done, click [Add].

*1 The following are some of the strings that "contain" "keio":

  • keio
  • keio university
  • dash keio
  • keiomail

In other words, all email containing the string "keio" somewhere in the Subject field are to be forwarded.

If I want to forward email that contains "keio" in the subject, which settings should I specify? When you click the same field where you selected "contains" in the previous step, you can find some other choices for conditions to be applied to the string you entered. For transferring only the messages whose subject is "keio," select "is" in the field.

How to forward messages that contain specific character(s) in either the Sender info or the Subject field.

The explanation is given here using an example of " If the email contains the string 'keio' in the Sender field or in the Sender info of the email address, or if it contains the string "test" in the Subject field, then forward the email to a specified address."

  • Processing method: Select [OR].
  • Setting up a condition (upper):
    • Select [From] (Sender's info).
    • Enter "keio" in the following criterion entry form.
    • Select [contains].
  • Click [Add condition].
  • Setting up a condition (lower):
    • Select [Subject].
    • Enter "test" in the following criterion entry form.
    • Select [contains].

When you are done, click [Add].

How to forward messages that contain specific character(s) in both the Sender info and the Subject field.

The explanation is given here using an example of " If the email contains the string 'keio' in the Sender field or in the Sender info, and if it also contains the string "test" in the Subject field, then forward the email to a specified address."

  • Processing method: Select [AND].
  • Setting up a condition (upper):
    • Select [From] (Sender's info).
    • Enter "keio" in the following criterion entry form.
    • Select [contains].
  • Click [Add condition].
  • Setting up a condition (lower):
    • Select [Subject].
    • Enter "test" in the following criterion entry form.
    • Select [contains].

When you are done, click [Add].

d. Editing, canceling and deleting forwarding configurations

Once a condition is configured, it appears in the list, as shown in the following figure.

How to edit a setting

Click to the right of the condition you want to edit. When the details are shown, edit the configuration as required.

How to cancel a setting

If you want to temporarily cancel a forwarding setting (while retaining the original settings), click on the left. When the icon changes to , the cancellation is complete.

How to delete a setting

Click to the right of the setting. If the setting disappears from the list, the deletion is complete.

How to delete multiple settings

Select the checkbox on the left of each of the settings you want to delete, and click [Selective Deletion].
