Windows 8.1 End of Support

Microsoft will begin the Windows 8.1 end of life phase on January 10, 2023.
No updates will be provided after this date, even if new security issues are discovered with the product. To continuously use your PC safely, read the following.

  1. Software update
    If you are using Windows 8.1, we recommend you to update it to a newer version of Windows to avoid high security risk.

  2. ITC services
    1. Use of the software license (only for eligible people)

      As of November 30, 2022, the following installation media will no longer be available for rental under the Microsoft EES license:

      • Windows 8.1 Professional/Enterprise Edition
    2. Notes on inquiries to ITC services

      After December 27, 2022, we will not be able to respond to inquiries regarding various uses of Windows 8.1.

      Example
      Use of the network on Windows 8.1 (such as keiomoible2/eduroam)
      Printing (such as IPP printing) from Windows 8.1.
      Use of software on Windows 8.1.
